We have had two cracking nights since I last wrote in January . The second one with ‘The Lost Cause’ was one of the best in our 14 years’ history with a full house and some terrific music. Just like the old days when folk clubs were at their zenith. I do hope that this is a further portent of better times all round after the somewhat disappointing Autumn season
We have come to know the individual members of ‘The Lost Cause’ over the years as they have appeared in various guises both solo and together but only on 2 occasions to my knowledge with this current full line up. This was their first full spot as before they have supported Stan Gee on Independence Night celebrations. All very accomplished musicians in their own right they have now developed into a very fine group, brought about by hard work in practice and rehearsals and increasing experience in clubs and other venues. A very well balanced programme with some interesting numbers, eg. a very nice arrangement of ‘Norwegian Wood’ and fine songs from such luminaries as Bob Dylan and The Dillards, they gave us a terrific night.
We, in the Lost Cause band, are indebted to John Chambers at The Second Time Around Folk Club, for his kind words penned in his February 2007 News Letter
